Definition:
Low cement castable is also known as fire clay or seam material (powder). Used as the jointing material of refractory products masonry. According to the material, it can be divided into clay, high aluminum, silicon and magnesium refractory mud, etc.
Low cement castables are based on the combination of clay and refractory castables. The product development of high alumina and low cement refractory castables is carried out. The key types are low cement, very low cement, no cement or ultrafine powder and silica sol Integrating refractory castables, it has the advantages of compactness, high toughness, low porosity, low damage, resistance to penetration and erosion; high alumina low cement castables have anti-penetration, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and wear resistance. Good performance and other characteristics, the market is used in power plant industrial boilers and its insulated furnace front and rear arches, furnace roof, tail furnace body and other positions.
Low cement castable is composed of refractory powder, binder and admixture. Almost all refractory raw materials can be made into powder used to prepare refractory mud.
Low cement castable is made of refractory clinker powder plus an appropriate amount of plastic clay as a binder and plasticizer. Its ordinary temperature strength is low, and the ceramic bond at high temperature has high strength.
The chemically bonded refractory mud with hydraulic, gaseous or thermosetting bonding material as the bonding agent produces a certain chemical reaction and hardens before the temperature below the ceramic bonding temperature is formed.
The particle size of refractory mud varies according to the requirements of use, and its limit particle size is generally less than 1mm, and some are less than 0.5mm or finer.
